Cancer Fighting Foods

I've created a few posts that have noted how foods, broccoli comes to mind, are cancer fighters.

In a book written by  David Servan-Schreiber, M.D., Ph.D. , Anticancer: A New Way of Life (Viking, 2008), he produces a list of foods that either prevent or inhibit cancer cell growth. I think it is instructive as he takes the time to point out how some foods prevent specific types of cancer. A table of these cancers and the foods that fights them is below:

Many of the foods above have been shown to repress cancerous cell growth by more than 80 percent. Note that garlic, onions, and leeks rank highest among the most effective foods for all the cancers listed.
