What Is A Wide-Body? What Is This Site About?

As we kick off the New Year, this is as good of time as any to renew my acquaintance with everyone, to give some context to my nom de plume and hence my raison d’etre.

I am the Wide-Body, a self descriptive name for my body type. I have happily been blessed with a mesomorph body type, providing me an outlet vehicle for the physically competitive desires within me. Overtime, this muscular frame has begun to thicken, what was once physically easy to achieve in my teens and twenties, became more difficult in my thirties and now my forties. I am still physically active by the evidence of completing three marathons in the last 12 months, I’ve just had to adapt to the changes in my body, and hence the name “Wide-Body”.

So, as you may have ascertained, a wide-body is not a fat body. Wide-bodies are physically active, and my encouraging other wide-bodies to become physically active is the reason for this site.

I see wide-bodies every where. Like everyone else, we become busy with the responsibilities of life and old patterns and habits fall away. Its not like wide-bodies don’t want to be physically active, because we have always LOVED being active. Its just that now we have a job, kids, bills, and big responsibilities that need to be can’t care of now, fitness and health take a back seat. As wide-bodies, we’ve always been able to get into shape quickly, we’ll be able to bounce back with no trouble, or so we tell ourselves as we sink a little lower into our malaise.

This site is to help you get out of that malaise and find new ideas and reasons for exercise.

I’ve kept the focus of this site to Health, Fitness, Lifestyle, and Food, with an emphasis on how this is a benefit to the wide-body community. I pull articles from a variety of sources, add my two cents, and put the information in front of you so that you can decide. If there is research, solutions, or advice, posted on this site, I will always cite the researcher, doctor, or author. The internet is full of quacks, and my goal is filter out the garbage and get you only the relevant information.

This site also works best when I hear from you. Feedback on articles is always welcome, as is ideas for additional features. You can always place comments to any of the posts are send me an email to Wide-Body@Wide-Body.com.

Please join me this year. If you have other family or friends looking for a place to collect information for their health and fitness plans, please send them this way. 2009 will be a big year for us and I’m expecting great things to come.

Take Care and God bless!
The Wide-Body
