Developing A Riding Group

One common workout tip is to workout with a partner. Sometimes that is easier said than done. What if you are new to an area? What if you are new to an event, like cycling or swimming? What if you are anti-social?
Well, there isn't much I can do for you if you are anti-social, but if you want to get a group of folks together as a group ride, Bicycling Mag has put together some helpful tips.
Highlights below, details found here: http://www.bicycling.com/article/0,6610,s-4-41-18155-1,00.html
Choose a Strict Leader: There are two essential qualities in a strong leader: timeliness and consistency.
Get People to Show Up: E-mail is quick and effective.
Mix Up the Routes: Be creative and keep things interesting. Google maps can help.
Establish Ground Rules: You can't be all things to all people. Are you in it for exercise, training, fun, or what. Be clear on what is the goal of the group.
Set Guidelines: What are the rules in traffic? On the open road? The group?
Keep it Light: You can be serious, but in the end, have fun.
