Another wide-body triathlete
I hesitated mentioning this article and its because I have a rule that this blog is focused on everyday athletes, not professional athletes. The article in question is about Jeff Conine, former major league all-star, and his quest to complete an ironman tri this October.
So, he is no longer a professional athlete, yet he has made the money so that he can comfortably train as much as he wants an not sweat the job thing. So, because he doesn't have to worry about a job, does that not make hima wide-body? He is 6'1", 220lbs, so he definately is a Clydesdale.
In the end, I decided to mention the article because he is no longer paid to be an athlete and not to mention him because he can now live without an income sort of smacks of class envy, which I'm not into. So, check out Mr Conine, and take a look at that training schedule. Yikes! Is that what it takes to compete in an Ironman? http://www.bicycling.com/article/0,6610,s-3-12-17601-1,00.html
